I am starting a Thursday puppy class now at 6pm so please email me to book your place. 6pm - 6.45pm

Arthingworth Village hall LE16 8JZ

Training every WEDNESDAY and
THURSDAY night

Puppy Class 7pm until 7.45pm
(Please bring your vaccination card.).

..................
.Adult Class 8pm until 9pm

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prices: £3 per class per dog. Lessons booked in blocks of 4 weeks. Total £12
I know times are hard at the moment so If you do have more than one dog you can pay every 2 weeks. So you wont have to pay out £24 in one go unless you want to. But the option is there to pay £12 every 2 weeks if it will help.

You can book as many 4 week courses as you want and continue to come as long as you like. If you are going on holiday or can not come for a week or so you can book your next 4 week course to start when you get back.
You will learn different things and classes are never totally repeated.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does your dog pull on the lead, bark at other dogs, not come back when called or just doesn't seem to listen to you?
Maybe your dog is generally well behaved and you want to train them to be a super obedient dog or even learn some new tricks?
Is your dog frightened of other dogs or people and just needs to socialize and have positive experiences?
Maybe you are thinking about taking your dog or puppy to fun dog shows and need to get them used to being around lots of other dogs first.
Or you have just got your first ever dog or puppy and want to be shown everything starting from sit.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
....................One to one training.
For only £20 an hour you can have one to one training in the hall to practice anything you like. Off lead or on lead with no distractions and no worry about your dog running off. Recall, walking to heal off lead, fetch or even giving commands from a distance. You can have one to one training every week or just the once. And if you have more than one dog you can bring them too and it will still only cost £15. If you are interested please email me with the days and times you are available!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is just a few things we do at New Beginnings.
Only dogs over 1 year can jump, any dog under 1 can only walk through the tunnel or walk through the hoop.
Please note that all of the dogs in the video are learning and none of the video is a finished product. These videos were taken in normal class with some that had learnt their tricks only the week before.
These videos are to show that what ever breed you have they can all learn something. Some of the puppies in the video are only 4 - 5 months old when the video was taken.
I will teach what ever you want to learn so if you are happy with sit and down then that's fine but if you want to learn more like Marley and Harry in the above video then again no problem.

Please also note that I do not teach agility, If you would like to learn agility please contact your nearest agility trainer.
We only do the tunnels for fun and only dogs over 1 year can jump through the hoop.
95% of training is obedience and 5% is tunnels and hoops.

Rules
1) Payment must be paid on the day of training whether it be at the start of the class or at the end.
2) You must clean up after your dog inside or outside. Mops and poo bags etc can be provided
3) If your dog is aggressive in anyway to people or other dogs they must wear a muzzle. Its better to have it and not need it than the other way around.
4) If you can not come one night, if you contact me (up until midnight of the day of dog training) I will hold your money so you wont loose anything, but if I have not heard from you then you WILL loose your money (£3) or (£6 if you have 2 dogs)
5) When you have finished coming to training you must let me know so that I can let others know there is now a space available.
6) If you have paid your place will be kept for you whether you come or not and will not be given to anyone else.
7) If you are coming for the first time or coming back for another 4 weeks but have not paid yet then I will keep your place for 3 days but if I have not heard from you by the Saturday (after the Wednesday you didn't attend) I will no longer keep your place and will offer it to someone else.
8) Only people who have paid or I know are coming have a definite place. If you come in and you are not on my register, if the class is full you will have to watch or go on the waiting list. So its always better to email me or ring me first if your not sure that I know your coming.
9) Only one person at a time can train the dog. Others can watch and you can take it in turns but only one person.
10) Children can come and watch if they can sit nice and quiet but can not have the dog either by them selves or with an adult unless I feel they are mature enough and will listen and learn to what is being taught to them.

If you are not sure or unhappy about any of the rules please email me

I don't like rules but every club needs them.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is my dog a puppy or an adult? If you are unsure which class would be best for your dog, then answering these questions might help.:
1) Is your dog friendly with other dogs.
2) Is your dog under 18 months old.
3) Does your dog just want to play with all the other dogs.
4) Would you like your dog to be able to sit, lay down, give paws, walk to heel, leave, stay and fetch.

If you have answered YES to all these questions then the puppy class is the best class for your dog. But if you have answered no:

1) Is your dog over 4 months old
2) Can your dog sit and lay down easily (they know how to)
3) Are they quite mature (especially if they are under 18 months old)

If you have answered yes to these questions then the adult class is best for your dog.

If you are still unsure then please email me :)

FAQ
Q) Can I bring biscuits or a toy?
A) Yes you can bring one or both.

Q) I dont believe in giving my dog treats at all can I still come?
A) There will be treats around in the hall as other people will have food on them, so if this will put your dog off then it would probably be better to find a training class where no one has treats.
But if your dog is not bothered by treats anyway then you must either use toys or your voice.
If this is working for your dog then great, but if you are finding it hard to get them to learn things, then I would question why you dont want them to have any. If it is weight issues then there are plenty of low fat biscuits or just bring some of their food. If its because you dont always want to give them treats then just learn with them, then every 2 - 3 commands give them a treat until after a few weeks you probably wont need any at all.

Q) Can I bring my 7y old child with me as it is their dog?
A) Yes, it is important that everyone in your household treats your dog the same and uses the same words. eg. If your dog is not aloud on the sofa then no one can let them onto the sofa.

Q) can my child take the class with my dog?
A) well, although it is good for your child to learn it is 99% of the time better for the parent to teach the dog then the parent to show the child how it is done.
Children can sit and watch and join in sometimes when instructed.
Remember dogs can live for up to 15 years and it is SO important to learn properly.
So no it is better for them to watch and learn at home from you.

Q) I have 2 dogs can I bring them both?
A) Yes. It is £3.00 per class per dog.

Q) I would like to bring two dogs but I cant afford to pay £24 in one go?
A) if you have two dogs you can pay in blocks of 2 weeks then you only need to pay £12 in one go.

Q) Can I bring my ***** when she is in season?
A) No, only when they are not in season.

Q) I would like to come but I think my dog is too naughty?
A) If your dog was perfect then you wouldn't need to take them to training. It doesn't matter how much they bark, pull on the lead and jump up I am here to help you and I expect all new dogs to naughty at first.

Q) I have never been to dog training before and I'm a little nervous?
A) Every class is worked out by what your dog can do and what you want to learn. As well as teaching the class as a whole I always ask people on their own how they are getting on and if there is anything else they need help with. I am always an email or phone call away.

Q) I don't want to teach my dog clicker training can I still come?
A) I don't believe there is only one method of training your dog. If clicker training works for your dog great but if voice commands work better then that's fine.

Q) Can I bring my dog with a halti or gentle leader?
A) Yes but we will try and teach your dog so that eventually they wont need it.

Q) My dog is very well behaved and I only want to teach them to come back on the lead when there is other dogs about is this OK?
A) Yes each class is worked out by what you want to learn and if your dog is fully trained and you are happy after 4 weeks then that is fine.

Q) I don't know when I can come. I know I cant come every week is this OK?
A) You will need to pay for 4 weeks but as long as there is the space and you tell me in advance you can come for 4 weeks have for example 2-3 weeks off then come back for another 4 weeks .

Q) Is there a waiting list or can I join straight away?
A) It all depends, sometimes the classes are full and there will be a waiting list other times you can join straight away. So just email and ask.

Q) Can I come and watch?
A) Yes, but for just £3 you can join in and if you decide its not for you then its only cost £3. If you do decide to come and watch please bring your dog with you.

Q) What do I need to bring when I come?
A) You will need your vaccination card, £12 to book your place for 4 weeks, 50p if you would like a drink and a cake bar, treats and or a toy and poo bags. There is a grass area for your dog if it needs to go to the toilet and a bowl of fresh water.

Q) Do you only train on a Wednesday, is there any other day I can come.
A) For puppy class you can also come on a Thursday night but I am looking to do an adult class on a Thursday night in the near future so please add your name to the adult Thursday list.

Q) I rang and booked to come but on the day I couldn't make it, I think ill leave it now because you will think I'm messing you about?
A) No I understand things can happen. If you let me know ASAP then you can come the following week but if I don't hear from you then I will assume you have changed your mind and I will contact the next person on the list who will then take your place.

Q) What happens if I have paid for my lessons then my ***** comes into season?
A) If you let me know as soon as she does come into season I will put a hold on place and you will not loose any money you have paid in advance. You can either have your money back or it will carry on when she is not in season.

Q) When Ive finished with dog training and I'm not coming back do I have to do anything?
A) YES, LET ME KNOW!!!! what ever the reason please let me know then I can contact the next person on the list.

Q) If I have paid for my 4 lessons but cant come one night do I still have to let you know I'm not coming?
A) If you could I would be very grateful. Because I and all your dog training friends will be worrying :)
